Authentic signed photographs and postcards of Montgomery Clift (1920-1966) are not really common and sometimes realized high prices at auctions. Unfortunately, Monty Clift was also on the sale list of the "Filmstar-Sekretariat Hans Dangers Berlin-West" in the 1950's and early 1960's and the secretaries does again an excellent job on these "autographs".
Left : Authentic examples from 1950's documents
Right : secretarial examples from the Filmstar-Sekretariat, Berlin
There are not many differences, but one major deviation is the always small "g" loop which is always bigger in authentic examples. Otherwise, the secretarial signatures are always very similarly written and do not vary slightly like authentic examples.
Many thanks to Artur Artner who submitted us his findings and references.
