A couple years ago I happened upon some Chuck yeager signed letters , and being no expert on Yeager they looked a bit "off" to me so I e-mailed him directly along with scans his secretary was kind enough to show them to the General who confirmed that he did not sign them but had once employed a secretary who used his name and letterhead to procure favors, he didn't elaborate anyway!
