Ruth Sando Perry 1939- Chairwoman of the Council of State of Liberia 1996-1997

She is known as being the first female  Head of State of Africa, as well the first female President of Liberia.

In 2004 I wrote a letter to her asking for her signed photograph. I was surprised to receive a letter from one of her family member telling me Perry got a stroke.

2-3  years after the stroke, she  wrote me.  I was happy with her letter and was appreciated in her personal handwritten answer. It was so nice of  the  sick Lady to write in person which had to be a hard work for her. Not very easy to read her writing but I think it is something great.

Now  I contacted her again, and I am glad to know she was recovering, and she is much better today. She was kind  as to sign my 3 photos I sent her. / back side /, I got today.

Perhaps you would like to see the family first letter, her first very difficult handwriting and the todays 3 SPs.

Best, Zoltán
