Collecting autographs at Spa-Francorchamps, F1 GP Belgium, 2013

The autograph collecting at Spa was tough but all in all successful. On the one hand there were amazing surprises like the kind behavior of Carlos Sainz jr, who will definitely be a F1 driver in a few years, and on the other hand, there were the arrogant current F1 stars who treat the fans more and more rough.

E.g. Lewis Hamilton: he signed – similar to the German GP a few weeks ago – only a version of his signature which has nothing in common with his normal sign. He searches the darkest point on the photograph in which he can write his very small and nearly unacceptable autograph. That is simply a shame!

Fernando Alonso is also tough to get, but when he is willing to sign, he does it without kidding the collector. Regretfully he is not writing anytime.

Sebastian Vettel is still amazing. He tries to fulfill every autograph wish. But all in all he became a little more stressed that in the past. Jenson Button is one of the most friendly top drivers beside Sebastian. He smiles, writes one autograph per meeting – and everything is fine.

Mark Webber is friendly to fans who wear Red Bull clothing, Kimi Räikkönen used the back entrance of the paddock to avoid contact with the fans, same did Nico Rosberg and Lewis Hamilton. Lewis was only been met when he had to leave the paddock for filming and interview sessions on the track.

Felipe Massa was like a phantom, no one knew where he entered and left the paddock.

All the other drivers were OK to collect. But it is obvious that drivers like Daniel Ricciardo and Jean-Eric Vergne are not willing to sign as much as in the past. Ricciardo signed only two photographs per meeting… Grosjean, Pic and Gutierrez signed max. three autographs per meeting.

Van der Garde, Sutil, Hülkenberg and Bianchi were signing very much.

Jules Bianchi is one of the friendliest drivers I ever met.

It was really joyful to collect autographs of the GP2 and GP3 drivers. These guys are really friendly, e.g. Carlos Sainz jr. or Daniil Kyvat, the Red Bull juniors. James Calado and Tio Ellinas were signing a lot. All of them have something in common: they all drove F1 cars at the Yound Drivers Test at Silverstone, so there is a possibility that they will become F1 stars in the future.
